Not very busy today.....
Well, I'm not going skiing today :(
Instead, my dad decided to clear off the pond.
So now I don't have much to do. I might just clean my room or go cross-country skiing. Or maybe someone will not be busy and hang out...I'm just keeping my fingers crossed.

the great escape
In gym, my group almost got lost again because we took a wrong turn, but Mr. Pole told us we were going the wrong way. I wasn't leading. We went to a small hill and rode up and down it a few times before returning to the school. It wasn't half bad.
Today I got to leave school early (i missed the end of science) so that I could leave for the great escape. I mostly read and looked out the window of the car. My dad, Noah, Will, and I got there at about 4:30pm and changed into our bathing suits. We were at the indoor water park for quite a while. Noah and I went on the "avalanch" slide lots of times. Its a +2 person ride, so you can't go alone. the raft is huge and the tunnel is even bigger. It was awesome.
I left around 8:15pm. I stood around for a couple minutes, then proceeded to take a shower. I ended up soaking the floor.
For dinner I had warmed-up pasta with alfredo sauce. It was very yummy.
It is currently 9:57pm. I just finished watching fantastic Mr. Fox. It's kinda weird twisted yet funny movie. And it's really long....
thats all for tonight.
um....bye?

wow....
I haven't been on here for awhile. so heres what happened:
I started school.
I started algebra seminar (scary)
I went to the nutcracker tryouts (i'm an elf :P )
And thats pretty much it. So today I have a lot of math homework, and its all algebra. Some from seminar, some regular math class. But I'm not very eager cuz I kinda hate math. but I'm doing the best that i can. So that should be enough.
No ballet today. So I have lots of free time. I think I'll get started on my homework now.

Ah, summer
so summer intensive is finally over. I have no more camps, but classes tuesday and thursday evenings.
I'm stuck in Jr. company with the intermediate 2 girls. Aviva is the only other one that stayed back from intermediate 4. but thats understandable. But mostly everyone from intermediate 3 move up, and so did meghan. I guess its becuase im "not ready" as michelle basically said. what she really said "we cant afford to move everyone up anymore, so we moved up who was ready." and the only reason most likly is because i just recently got my pointe shoes. so yeah. laura got in without pointe shoes, so i have no idea what the deal is. Although i never was Alexs' favorite. I think he pretty much ignores me. I can tell clara and kaitlyn are his favorites. I don't know what his problem is, but he barely even notices anyone besides them. Mom said its because russians "pick their favorites". I honeslty dont know.

Pointe Shoes!
Yesterday, as you may or may not know, i received my first pair of pointe shoes! So here's what happened:
During our break between regular class and pointe class on a typical Friday morning, I noticed Kira and smiled at her. She had a big grin on her face and said something like, "today is a good day." to me. I thought nothing of it and continued to chew my popcorn.
During pointe class, Michelle ended early and told us (girls and Duncan) to gather around her. First she said some stuff, in which i don't remember because I'm pretty sure what is said after is more important. Then she said, "OK....the first person to get their pointe shoes is Mira!" Everyone clapped and applauded, and Mira had a big grin on her face. "The next person to get their pointe shoes is....Serena!" Michelle continued. Everyone applauded again and she was also very excited. Then... "and the next person is Elizabeth!"
I couldn't believe my ears. I thought i was making this up. But it was true, Michelle had called my name.
My eyes started to tear up, and I said, "Now I'm crying!" (and laughing a little at myself). Michelle told me I had to keep working on stretching and my hamstrings/straightening my legs, and that I had to work very hard because Michelle convinced the other teachers to give me a chance. She said that the other teachers were thinking about not letting me, but Michelle stood up for me.
I was just so happy that it finally happened. My ballet friends surrounded me and were smiling. I felt like the queen of the world.
Then I went to get my shoes fitted, and I had to wait untill Serena was finished. When she was done, it took me three pairs of signature rehersal to find the right fit. I put them on hold a reserved a stich kit so I could sew them. I felt like jumping up and down and screaming I was so happy.
When my grandma came to pick me up, she paid for the shoes and i took them home. but first we stoped by the new studio and took a peek. it was beautiful!
Once i got home i started to bend them a little bit, and i started to sew the left footed one on. Then i noticed a nail in the shank that was sticking up and hurting my heel once i went on pointe. I showed my parents and they said "it must be defective."
I was so mad and sad. I stayed in my room for a little bit untill my mom came up and talked to me. The plan was to go to saratoga and see if it could be fixed, but if not I will get new ones and return the defective pair. I agreed.
Today i woke up bright and early and my dad and I set out to Saratoga. I read my bok, and finished it on the way there. Once at the shop I told the sales woman about the bump, and showed her. She said she could fix it right up!!! I was sooo happy and I handed the pointe shoe to her. I browed around a a small pile of merchandise piled into my hands. I bought some toe tape, a leotard, giselle (dvd), and stirrup legwarmers. I knew that somehow the problem would be fixed.
Once shopping around, my dad and I went to see the performance. We got great seats, in section 1, row g, seat 13/14. The ballet was great and the whole time I kept thinking, "Now that I have my pointe shoes, i'm closer to being able to do what they do!"
After we went home. I was so excited to finish sewing my pointe shoes!
Once home I dropped my bags on the table, checked on the rabbits, and continued to sew up my pointe shoes!! Once done I put socks over them and started to duck walk to break them in. I then sat at the computer and logged on. Which brings me up to now. right now im wearing my pointe shoes. I love then so much and connot wait for tomorrow!

the night before my birthday...
i am sooo excited for my birthday! i have this really pretty ring that has a sapphire stone in the middle...little diamonds on the sides, and a 14 karat gold band. its so pretty!!!!!! So earlier i went to old orchard and went on the rides, they were a lot of fun. I still wouldn't go one the tango or pirate ship. I'll save it for next time. I still have that sunburn on my face :( but it is getting better :D. I am on the third book in the pretty little liars series (perfect) by sara shepard. It's a really good series, and im tottaly addicted to it. i started watching the show on abc family, and that made me want to read the book. i honestly like the book better because the show is so different than it. Like movies that are based on boks. always read the book first!!!!!
Early in the morning me and my mom went out and drove the convertable to portland. We went to the same store that my parents bought their rings, springers. that made it special :). I also bought an estate peice, so it has a little history. Of course i will pass this ring down though the Powell generations! After we ate at a little bakery place and drove back to ocean park and went to the beach. I mostly read my book, but i went in the water a little bit too. I had a lot of fun today...and im excited for tomorrow!

ballet: the ins and outs of the summer intensive week 1
so this week went pretty well. i learned some tricks for improving my flexibility and strength while practicing good technique.
strengthening my ankles:
supply: thera band (bunheads heavy duty is best. the lower the resistance, the more repetitions. at least until you feel the work out on your calf)
1. the ABC's. put your thera band around the top of your foot and point. draw a, b, c and so on. change feet. if you don' feel any slight burn in your calf...repeat.
2. slow point. start with your thera band around the top of your foot as before. now slowly extend your heel......arch...then your toes into a fully pointed position. hold this for about 5 counts and then flex your toes...then arch...and heel until your whole foot is flexed. repeat at least 10 times and switch legs. this is one rep. continue to repeat until you can feel your calf's slightly burning. no pain, no gain. :)
stretching my lower body:
1. use your straddle during TV. don't sit down and watch, use that time to stretch. sit in a straddle where your hamstrings feel stretched. hold this for 1-2 minutes..then put your hands under your knees and scootch your butt (or po-po as my teacher would call it) forward. continue to do this for 30-60 minutes. you will see results within a month or so. (results vary with flexibility)
2. follow the steps on this youtube video. this really words...i even tried it! really..within seconds!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5h7YQ6YmSQ8&feature=related
so enjoy that video....i do not know how long it lasts...i asked but i dnt kno if the person replied yet.
so that was good to know. there were also some lame videos that are not as good. so stick to this one for now....try other ones before showing friends ;)

http://www.vevo.com/watch/shakira/waka-waka-this-time-for-africa2010-fifa-world-cup-kick-off-concert/TIVEV1055816?c=142
Songs I h8:
"Cant be tamed" by Miley cirus. seriously miley? the once little angel has become another britney spears. We dont need another. Does she really need animated wings and everything? I think the song is an exuse to ware a leotard and look like a hooker. and y are people scared of her? its just really stupid. Ok, so suddenly people show up behind her wings. wow stupid. Its desgusting. Miley cirus: theres only one thing you cant do: hip hop music!!!!
http://www.vevo.com/watch/miley-cyrus/cant-be-tamed/USH5V1021043
In this video, miley is the only one that sounds bad:
http://www.vevo.com/watch/artists-stand-up-to-cancer/just-stand-up/USUMV0801196
"According to you" by oriathi. she says the same lines over and over and over. She has a pretty face..but is that it? Can't you think of some better lyrics than the same words for the whole song??? I'm really annoyed with this song.
http://www.vevo.com/watch/orianthi/according-to-you/USUV70903608
"bedrock" by drake. really?? hes really bad hin concert!!!!!! i cant beleive people accualy came! That was just so bad! the lyrics are horrible too!
http://www.vevo.com/watch/drake/bedrock/USCMV1000013
"one less loney girl" by justin beiber. Sorry justin, but this song is just so boring. can you write songs that dont involve girls and falling for them? shake it up a little bit. The only good part about this video is justin's hair.
http://www.vevo.com/watch/justin-bieber/one-less-lonely-girl/USUV70902899
"I can do dat" by someone havent heard of. how many times hav this dude said i can do dat????? WHO CARES IF YOU CAN DO DAT?! I BET AL OT OF OTHER PEOPLE CAN DO DAT TOO!!

NAP
ok, the world is coming to an end. Heres why:
I took a nap today. On a SCHOOL day! When god makes me nap on a school day, it means the world is coming to an end. CoNsIdEr YoUrSeLf WaRnEd!!!!
rawr
Sooooooo, the world is also coming to an end because I have many projects and reports due in the past 2 weeks. Which means I will be confused at whats due when. So i'm going to turn somthing in late, and it won't be MY fault, it will be the teachers. Stupid projects.
also, us seventh graders will not get to go to the beach this year, so we will stay in school for the last day. I'm sorry, im overreacting.
THE 7TH GRADERS HAVE TO STAY IN THE SCHOOL BUILDING FOR THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!! WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?! APPARENTLY ITS CUZ THEY WANTED ALL THE 8TH GRADERS TO DO SOMETHING OR SOMETHING, BUT WHO CARES ABOUT THAT?! THE 6TH GRADERS GET TO GO, SO WHY CAN'T WE?? THIS IS UN CALLED FOR, AND I THINK ALL THE 7TH GRADERS SHOULD SUE THE SCHOOL!!!!
ARE YOU WITH ME?!?!
YES YOU ARE!!!
so thats whats happening.

The Saturday Performances
Yesterday I finished performances!!!!
Here's my day:
I woke up at 9:40 and ate breakfast. Then I got dressed in my leo and tights and made shur I had everything I needed. Then I left home at around 10:55. I picked up Clara and we went to the high school. We arrived at around 11:05 and went to our table. I hung up my costume and put on my warm-ups. I bought a snack and after I went to the stage to get warmed up. In about 5 minutes we stared our class. It started at 11:30 and ended around 1:00. So after the hour and a half class I went back into the cafeteria. I ate and put on my makeup. Then I got into my illusionist costume.
So The show started and I was in the hallway leading to the stage. I saw a little bit of the dances before our Jr. Co dance. They were all little kids, and they were "Galaxy dancers". There were moonbeams, constellations, and more. After them there was young princesses, and then the illusionist. I think it went pretty well, and I didn't see anyone mess up. So that was good. after there was the secret garden, garden polka, fleurs de joix, Anne of green gables, mazurka from Coppelia (that was pretty cool, it was Sr. Co character dance), Nuestra (that was also really cool i loved the music and the choreography was great. Then we had our first intermission. by then I had my second costume on. It was a lot of fun, and I took my portrait picture before the
intermission ended. I went backstage and took some pictures of Raymonda. Raymonda lasted for a long time, because there was a waltz first with the entire VBT Co with Emily Rutz leading. Then there were solos: first Holly Stone, Allison Zengilowski, Emily Rutz, Victoria DeLuca, a group of Kylie Edwards, Vivien Farrel, and Charlotte Pratt, Haleigh Pierce, and Toni Martin. Then they had an ending dance. So that lasted awhile. Next was Shostakovich, which took two short songs to finish. Then it was time for Swan (<-)Lake! I think I did a great job, and It was a lot of fun. When that was over I changed back into my first costume. I snuck back onstage to look at the dances. Then before I knew it, it was over. We went to do our bows, and we did. We left the stage a little early, but it was ok. I gave my Flowers to Alex, which was a little awkward because he was looking around at first and didn't see me, but when he did he just said thank you and I ran to the back of the stage with everyone else. He was kinda holding back the line of people i think, but I wasn't sure. Anyway, it went well. After I got back to the cafeteria, I changed into my leo and warm ups to eat. Some people talked to their parents and stuff. I brought cookies, and ate my peanut butter fluff sandwich. After most people talked to their siblings, We set up our lunch place. I hid the cookies for later, and ate. Aviva brought sandwiches (peanut butter jelly) and Katelyn brought fruit salad, yummy yummy. We ate and talked and played truth or dare, although it was more like truth or truth. We found out we had no warm up class today, so the stage was open to warm yourself up. It was pretty fun to do, and Alex put on the song FAME for us to warm up to. We practiced part of swan lake, and then got ready for the next performance.
I got dressed in my illusionist/Jr. Co costume, and we already had our group picture last performance, so we hung out. I went on and off backstage to take pictures and hang out. It was pretty fun. First we had the illusionist after the galaxy dancers. I helped Clara get ready for it, because she was in the moonbeams (she helped the little kids know what to do) and we started after he changed. It went great, and I stayed after to watch La Danse Enjouee. Then I went back to change into my swan lake outfit. I went backstage and took a couple pictures of Mazurka (the character dance)
After the people from mazurka put on their Swan Lake costumes and we took a group picture. We did that during intermission, so when it ended there was the Raymonda people. Then after another little dance, it was Swan Late, for the last time :'-(. I stayed and watches some of A child's Garden Of Verses, then went to the other side of the stage (stage right) to grab my camera. When I went back I found Laura has a hurt knee cap. In the beginning of Swan Lake it popped out and back in place. She couldn't put her weight on it, and she got an ice pack and was crying. I felt so bad for her and everyone gave her candy and sweets. She left the performance early in a wheelchair.
Other than that I took more pictures backstage, and watched Dark Moon. It was really cool, and very impressive. I watched a little tiny bit of Charlotte's web, but i also had to change into my Jr. Co costume . so I did that, and then we had to get ready for the finale. The Finale went well, and after that everything was DONE!! Summer intensive, Here I come!! I gathered all my stuff, and I went home with Clara. I was in bed by 11:00 and I was so tired!
Today I still have some liquid eyeliner on my eyes, and my hair is really gross and full of Gel. I'm so glad its sunday!

The first sping performance
Ok, so that was really fun!!! It went great!! Here was the schedule:
4:00- be at the high school
4:30- warm up class
6:00-ish- end of class
6:00 to 7:00 hang out and get ready
7:00 begin performance
9:00-ish end performance and go home
so I had a pretty busy day, and now i'll start from the beginning.
This morning was a regular school day :P and I was tired. So after school, which ends at 2:30. I went home and hung out for a couple hours. By around 4:00 I left for the high schol, dressed in my leo and tights. The class started at 4:30, and while we warmed up the theatre people checked the lights. The class lasted for about 1 1/2 hours, so by 6:00 we were back in the cafeteria getting ready for the show. I put my hair up in a high bun and did all my makeup. I also ate dinner before I put on the makeup. After that was all done, I put on my first costume. It was for Jr. co, and was a classic romantic with many layers (3 of royal blue, 2 of mustard yellow) and the other half was velvet in royal blue with a little bright greenish-yellowish sash going along the front of it. There are two flowers on it also that are mustard colored. So I put that on, and Savannah (a ballet friend) and I went into the school halway and took pictures. Soon It was time to get in line to go onstage. So we waited behind these little kids to get to the stage, and in about 5-10 minutes we were backstage. It was a little crouded, but we fit. Suddenly, the dance ended and the stage blacked out. It was my time to dance!!! We rushed into our places onstage, and the lights burst on. Right after the music started, and we jumped in.
I always love performing. I don't do it for the entertainment of the croud, I do it for the experience.
after the dance was over, I went back to the cafeteria and took off my costume. I then changed into my swan lake costume. I love this costume. It is romantic, but it goes almost to my knees, so it's short. Its a maroon/pinky costume, with lace on half of the top. The lace is pink, and there is a gold lining below it. The rest is maroon velvet. The tutu part is maroon with a layer of pink on top that is a little shorter than the maroon part. It also has a little floer below the lace part.
I took some more pictures with Savannah, and then it was time to go again. This time, it was even more crowded backstage. There were enough students backstage for three different dances, and there were. We didn't have to wait too long to go on, because it only took about 15-20 minutes for the dance to end. For us performers, thats not very long. The stage again blacked out, and then it was our turn. about 1/3 of the people from my group went onstage, bit the rest stayed offstage, where they start. The lights came on, and the music boomed. It was time for the big dance. This dance is 7 minutes and 53 seconds long. That is LONG for a ballet performance. Us dancers didn't have many breaks (they weren't long either) bit I didn't mind. I like the thrill of being onstage. This was my favorite dance in the performance, and it esd finished in the blink of an eye. Shur, from the audience it seemed long, but when you're acually DOING it, all you think about is your dance. All you see is the stage and fellow dancers, all you hear is the music, all you feel is the sweat and light boring into you. I love these feelings. It's so different watching, and performing. When the dance was finally over, I went back to the corner in the cafeteria (for the last time {ecept after the show}) and changed into my first costume, the blue and mustard one. I took more pitcures, then played down by the banks with the little ones. After we lined up for the finalie. This year I got to hand out the flowers to the teachers at the very end. It's pretty fun to do.
After all that was done, i stripped off the costume and put my "junk" back on. I had my nud leo, tights, sweatpants, and plaid shirt on. And clogs. I got a ride home from Clara, and my feet were so sore from the performance, it felt so good to sit down and take the weight off my feet. Once home I ate a little snack and prepaired for tomorrow.

Stupid Drama
wow I cannot believe what happened today. So I wrote this note to this "friend" that said "oh great, we have ________ for 2 hrs!" and the teacher that it was written about found the note in a desk. So the "friend" I passed it to was asked who wrote it, and they ratted out on me! I mean, I was so pissed because I already this morning was kinda annoyed that I couldn't close the window when it was raining (the teacher saw me "roll my eyes") . The teacher is a little emotionally unstable and cries when someone says a "rude comment" and stuff like that. So she had to make a big scene out of it and talked to me in the hall. Other people write notes about her and don't have to do that! So after she told the other teacher about it, and most likely exaggerated the whole thing, so the other teacher talked to me too. I'm like, what the heck!! Just let it go, everyone hates the teacher that said it anyway, and teachers shouldn't be an emotional wreck because of a note. So I had to go through all that stupid drama because of a note. So not I'm kinda mad at this "friend" for telling on me, because i didn't need the extra drama. And the person could have just said "I don't know who wrote it." when the teacher asks. They give me this crap about being honest and that they would tell on anyone that wrote that (btw, they didn't say they would tell on friends, so i guess they hate me for some stupid reason), and I'm like bull crap. So I really don't know the REAL reason why they told on me, and if their reading this now, there is no reason to be mad because I didn't say your name or anything. I have every right to be mad right now.
I don't even know if I can trust this person anymore. I'm just going to avoid this person because I'm not going to hang around people that will rat me out in a situation like that. Personally, I think friendship over rules lying. So I'm just tired of this stupid drama. Its soooooooooo annoying. Even at home there is drama. My little brother just came home and is now screaming and crying. He's 7. And it's all about the way he is treating his little brother and how he gets in trouble at school. He really needs to learn how to act his age. Just as tattle-tailing is usually over by 2nd grade. Well, I guess not for everyone. At least I'm venting this out now so I won't hold a grudge later. Because I'm mature enough to let go of the past and just move on. What is said on this blog, stays on this blog.

Ballet Performance
its time
makeup ready?
costume set?
hair sprayed back?
yes.
rush to the stage.
wait on the side for your turn
to shine.
The music fills your ears as you dance
along with the others
in perfect harmony.
you love the way it feels.
they way you look.
your costume.
the excitement.
and before you know it
its all over.
until the next performance
where you repeat the cycle again.

Post-Rain
I love the feeling of peace, security, sorrow, and comfort you get after it rains. Some people claim there is a certain smell of wet soil after it rains, but honestly I don't smell anything like that. I do like going over to the stream in my backyard and seeing how high the water is, and how fast the rapids are going.
I like the sound of cars rushing by on the soaked roads, the sound of a drop of water falling off a leaf into the water, and the sound of the birds and/or frogs in the dense air.
I love the look of everything. Sometimes its just a little dewy, but other times everything is covered in a thin clear layer of water. It looks like everything is polished to shine. Sometimes the sun comes out after a storm and makes the grass all sparkly. I prefer storms with a post-sun appearance. It looks like the whole world took a shower.
Everything is wet. nothing in plain sight is spared of water-soaked coats. If you sit on the grass after a storm, it either feels cold and wet to the touch, or refreshing because you are sweaty and need to cool off. For me, It's usually a little of both. It kind of sends a tingling feeling through your nerves up to your brain.

Addicting TV
Ok...so here's the problem.
You turn on the TV, and there's your favorite show. So you start watching it. Now you have to wait half an hour or an hour or whatever untill the show is over so you don't miss anything. So you're just sitting there watching TV when you should be doing you're homework or chores or exercising or babysiting.
Then there's all there commerials that make the show longer than It should be. I bet if you took off all the ads on a hour show, it would be 40 minutes instead of 60. So that kind of sucks for us because maybe we get in trouble for watching TV instead of doing you're homework. Then when you say, "It's almost done," when theres commerials that make it longer, if there wern't any then it WOULD be almost over, but there are ads so you get in more trouble. I know, It makes more money.....but at least put the ads on boring channels that no one watches, or make them more interesting. Maybe stop playing the Roni Deutch commerials, you know? Even though it's kinda fun to say.
Roni Deutch.

8:48
it's getting kinda dark out. The sunset is beautiful, with vivid oranges and pinks. The accual SUN was orange. I can hear the chant of the washer. I can feel the fog of monday on my head, making it harder for me to keep it up. I can hear my mom's and I's breath. The loudest sound is the keys styping these words. My mom's footsteps seem all too loud, and my back feel like it hurts, altho I'm not sure why. My mom sits on the couch. She tells me I should get off the computer soon. I agree. I will either read or watch tv after this. Probably a little of both.
Music
Don't you wish life was like a movie, where music plays in the backround? It would be pretty awesome. So that leads you to the question........what song best describes you? for me, it would be The Fear by Lily Allen. Its kind of random, but so am I. Maybe later I will think of a better song, but for now thats all I can think of.
There's only one song for middle school: Blah Blah Blah by Ke$ha because of all the stupid drama.
Music has the power to cheer you up. Just turn on your fav song and bam! your cured.
The only thing is....famous people can just become singers as long as they know another famous singer or are related to someone famous. So all those people that have the natural talent of singing never get discovered.
grilled cheese
yummmm.
don't you just love grilled cheese, fresh of the grill, the cheese melting off the sides, the bread toasted to perfection?
thats the way i like my grilled cheese.
especially made by my best friend. (a.k.a char {she made me say that})
so...im eating one right now, and i gotta say.....its pretty good.
:)
summer
well, summers basically here.
:)
except for the stupid fact that school is still in session.
that means about 1 more month of sitting in my classes, half-awake, half-listening to the lesson on who knows what.
anyway, theres the end of the year pool thing in gym :)
and the stupid math test :(
and going to the beach on the last day :)
so i guess theres more things to look forward to than dread.
