Pointe Shoes!

Yesterday, as you may or may not know, i received my first pair of pointe shoes!  So here's what happened:

During our break between regular class and pointe class on a typical Friday morning, I noticed Kira and smiled at her.  She had a big grin on her face and said something like, "today is a good day." to me.  I thought nothing of it and continued to chew my popcorn.
During pointe class, Michelle ended early and told us (girls and Duncan) to gather around her.  First she said some stuff, in which i don't remember because I'm pretty sure what is said after is more important.  Then she said, "OK....the first person to get their pointe shoes is Mira!"  Everyone clapped and applauded, and Mira had a big grin on her face.  "The next person to get their pointe shoes is....Serena!"  Michelle continued.  Everyone applauded again and she was also very excited.  Then... "and the next person is Elizabeth!"
I couldn't believe my ears.  I thought i was making this up.  But it was true, Michelle had called my name.
My eyes started to tear up, and I said, "Now I'm crying!"  (and laughing a little at myself).  Michelle told me I had to keep working on stretching and my hamstrings/straightening my legs, and that I had to work very hard because Michelle convinced the other teachers to give me a chance.  She said that the other teachers were thinking about not letting me, but Michelle stood up for me.
I was just so happy that it finally happened.  My ballet friends surrounded me and were smiling.  I felt like the queen of the world.
Then I went to get my shoes fitted, and I had to wait untill Serena was finished.  When she was done, it took me three pairs of signature rehersal to find the right fit.  I put them on hold a reserved a stich kit so I could sew them.  I felt like jumping up and down and screaming I was so happy.
When my grandma came to pick me up, she paid for the shoes and i took them home.  but first we stoped by the new studio and took a peek.  it was beautiful!
Once i got home i started to bend them a little bit, and i started to sew the left footed one on.  Then i noticed a nail in the shank that was sticking up and hurting my heel once i went on pointe.  I showed my parents and they said "it must be defective."
I was so mad and sad.  I stayed in my room for a little bit untill my mom came up and talked to me.  The plan was to go to saratoga and see if it could be fixed, but if not I will get new ones and return the defective pair.  I agreed.

Today i woke up bright and early and my dad and I set out to Saratoga.  I read my bok, and finished it on the way there.  Once at the shop I told the sales woman about the bump, and showed her.  She said she could fix it right up!!!  I was sooo happy and I handed the pointe shoe to her.  I browed around a a small pile of merchandise piled into my hands.  I bought some toe tape, a leotard, giselle (dvd), and stirrup legwarmers.  I knew that somehow the problem would be fixed.
Once shopping around, my dad and I went to see the performance.  We got great seats, in section 1, row g, seat 13/14.  The ballet was great and the whole time I kept thinking, "Now that I have my pointe shoes, i'm closer to being able to do what they do!"
After we went home.  I was so excited to finish sewing my pointe shoes!
Once home I dropped my bags on the table, checked on the rabbits, and continued to sew up my pointe shoes!!  Once done I put socks over them and started to duck walk to break them in.  I then sat at the computer and logged on.  Which brings me up to now.  right now im wearing my pointe shoes.  I love then so much and connot wait for tomorrow!
