Post-Rain

I love the feeling of peace, security, sorrow, and comfort you get after it rains.  Some people claim there is a certain smell of wet soil after it rains, but honestly I don't smell anything like that.  I do like going over to the stream in my backyard and seeing how high the water is, and how fast the rapids are going.
I like the sound of cars rushing by  on the soaked roads, the sound of a drop of water falling off a leaf into the water, and the sound of the birds and/or frogs in the dense air.
I love the look of everything.  Sometimes its just a little dewy, but other times everything is covered in a thin clear layer of water.  It looks like everything is polished to shine.  Sometimes the sun comes out after a storm and makes the grass all sparkly.  I prefer storms with a post-sun appearance.  It looks like the whole world took a shower.
Everything is wet.  nothing in plain sight is spared of water-soaked coats.  If you sit on the grass after a storm, it either feels cold and wet to the touch, or refreshing because you are sweaty and need to cool off.  For me, It's usually a little of both.  It kind of sends a tingling feeling through your nerves up to your brain.
